Vietnamese restaurants have been popping up all over Amsterdam recently. The latest to hit the streets is Bo Nam. Located in the bustling Leidseplein area, the restaurant aims to serve Vietnamese dishes with a modern take.
The menu at Bo Nam shows some traditional Vietnamese dishes we all know and love, like beef pho and spring rolls. But dishes like baguette hoi-sinner and ham-buh-guh are definitely more catered towards a younger and more international crowd.
We sample the imperial rolls (fried rice paper rolls – yummm!) and bo la lut (grilled beef in leaves). Both dishes showcase typical Vietnamese flavors of fresh herbs and fish sauce – we love it. Our favorite though is the light papaya salad. This is summer in Vietnam on a plate!
Find Bo Nam at the Lange Leidsedwarsstraat 57 near Leidse Square in the Amsterdam city center.
