I’ve had Bone Daddies on my list for ages and finally we were able to go when we were in London last week. It was by far the best ramen we’ve had. Usually when we need our ramen fix, we drive up all the way to Dusseldorf to visit Takumi. It’s a long drive but since we don’t really have a decent ramen restaurant here in the Netherlands, I’d say it’s worth it. But it’s nothing compared to Bone Daddies. The noodles were perfectly chewy, the soup was full of flavour, the pork slices were as juicy as you could get and the soft-boiled eggs.. oh! They were the star of the dish. Yolky, not too runny. I sat there slurping away, thinking about how big the difference was compared to other ramen we’ve had. It’s hard to say what exactly makes a good ramen. I have friends who prefer springy noodles and don’t like texture at all in their soup. Friends who don’t even like egg yolk (yes, they’re out there). Maybe we were there at the right place, the right time. Maybe we were lucky. All I know is, on Thursday 29 November at approximately 1pm, this ramen in Soho was near perfect.
