One of my favorite lunch spots in Amsterdam is Bar Brasserie OCCO in the Dylan Hotel in Amsterdam. This little spot, tucked away in the tiny corners of Amsterdam’s ever-popular canals, may look like one of those elegant lunch spots where only business men and travellers meet for lunch, but there’s more than meets the eye. At Bar Brasserie OCCO, you’re treated to fine dishes ranging from beautiful salads, hearty soups to indulgent desserts.
The creamy roasted pumpkin soup is light and airy and is perfect for summer time (especially if you’re still working on that bikini body – good luck!). For those who love bigger flavors, the spices of the tandoori chicken will be a great surprise, balanced with the freshness of the avocado. The cheese burger was one le boyfriend had to have (being a bonafide carnivore and all). It is a classic, served in two brioche buns with Amsterdam’s favorite ‘zure bom’ by De Leeuw. My favorite however has to be the duck noodle soup, served in a fragrant broth and with a generous amount of roasted Peking Duck. For dessert, we opted for the homemade sorbet with fresh red fruits. If all the previous isn’t enough to win you over, the dessert is.
