We squander away so much of our time on a daily basis and yet we are able to ask ourselves why we have so little time. I spent the weekend catching up on my Casey Neistat vlogs. The man makes me want to grab life by the balls again and start living. There’s just something about Casey’s dynamic vlogs that make you want to go out and do something with your life.
Of course the other half of my weekend was spent looking at hot dudes with kitten photos. Combine two of the most loved species on the internet and you’ve got yourself an internet phenomenon that will entertain most, if not all, of the world. Don’t be ashamed, hot guys and kittens is exactly what you need, right now.
A small part of my weekend was dedicated finishing this post, the second half of my two-parter post on the Calistoga Ranch Resort in Napa Valley I visited last year. The post was lined up to be posted a week after the first part, but then between the moving, travelling and all other things that came in between (ms. Procrastination here, the usual yada-yada), this post sort of slipped away. It miraculously found itself back into my schedule again this weekend after watching our US Road Trip Vlog and I was reminded again of how shamefully late posting this article would be.
But in the spirit of It’s better late than never and Always be closing, I’m finishing a post nearly six months after its inception and three months after its initial posting date.
Do bare with me.
The Calistoga Ranch Resort is part of the Auberge Resort Collection and houses 50 luxury rooms. It’s hard to think about anything other than pure relaxation when you’re at Calistoga. There’s an outdoor hot tub that makes you forget you ever thought hot tubs were an unnecessary luxury. Hot tubs are a necessity and outdoors, even better.
Then there’s the outdoor shower – we were sure to make full use of it, jumping to every opportunity we had to take a shower. I guess there’s something about going au naturel in the open air that just feels like complete bliss. I do apologize though for putting upsetting images in your head and the mental damage I may have caused. Hey, we can’t all look like Alicia Vikander (girl crush, anyone?) can we?
And just when you think you don’t have to leave the lodge for the duration of your stay, you are lured into a culinary trap of enjoying an exquisite dinner at The Lakehouse. It was fine dining full of contrasting flavors and the most fragrant wines we’ve ever had. The private restaurant has a gorgeous view of Lake Lommel. The amazing culinary experience at The Lakehouse made for a romantic and utterly delightful evening with K and the perfect way to end our US trip.
Of course, things had to be topped off with a ride in an all new Mercedes Benz. Guests are welcome to take the resort’s rides for a spin, a drive around town or, you know, to take photos in. As I
shamefully shamelessly did.
Our trip to Napa Valley and our stay at the Calistoga Ranch Resort were nothing short of amazing. From the breathtaking sceneries, the culinary experiences, the outdoor showers, the cloud-like mattress and pillow and the friendliest staff you can ever encounter. We continued our journey at Spring Mountain Vineyard, where we enjoyed a beautiful Elivette, the vineyard’s signature wine.
I’m sure many will agree with me that Napa Valley life is one hard to leave behind.
