I have a number of films I have yet to see and Dracula Untold (2014) was no where in the top. But I guess there’s something about Luke Evans that just draws you in. The film was pretty decent actually, which I didn’t expect. There was a story, not one with depth but still good enough to keep you watching. It was action-packed (I’m talking three wars in 1,5 hours, so Peter Jackson, it is possible!) but never did it feel rushed. The cinematography was dark and dramatic, which I like. And the soundtrack blew me away. What was really the heart of the film though, was Luke Evans, he carries the film. I remember seeing him in Tamara Drewe back in 2010, a film that also starred the then-more-famous Dominic Cooper, who now plays the antagonist in Dracula Untold. Cooper’s performance was meagre, cringeworthy even. Evans on the other hand has this quality that makes you forget you’re watching a rather thin film. I’m keeping an eye on you, Evans!
