Fall Beauty Essentials

Fall Beauty Essentials Laneige BB Cushion

With the cold weather these days and winter coming, it’s important to stay hydrated and moisturized. I don’t use that many beauty products to be honest. I travel a lot back and forth between London and Amsterdam these days and one thing I hate is carrying a lot of stuff with me. I like to stick to essentials – products that will do the trick in no time. Here are some of my current fall beauty essentials!

My first pick is the Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control – I have been obsessed with this lately. Basically it’s a bb cream in a container and you apply it using the cushion provided. The cream is so much lighter than regular bb cream but it gets the job done. It gives you a flawless looking skin, it brightens, it’s moisturizing but definitely not dewy (more matte actually). But it gives you a natural look, not at all like you’re using anything. I just wish the container was a little bit more compact but other than that, great product!

Fall Beauty Essentials Missha Time Revolution

If you’re a beauty nerd, you’ll know a typical Korean skincare routine covers as much as ten steps. I have been using the Missha Time Revolution line for a while now and I love how silky smooth and moisturized my skin feels after using the products. I use the Missha Time Revolution Clear Toner to remove any impurities on my skin in the morning and evening. I apply the Missha Time Revolution Essence after the toner and before I use my moisturizer. An essence is a concentrated liquid that you apply between cleansing and moisturizing. The only thing I don’t like is that both products are scentless – a little bit of a floral scent would have been nice!

Fall Beauty Essentials SUM37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

The SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick is probably my favorite product of all this season. It’s the perfect cleanser to remove your skin from all impurities after a long day. It leaves my skin feeling soft and it brightens the skin as well, leaving a soft glow. Foam it up under the shower and apply it all over the face. It has a nice rosey scent to it and I love how my skin smells after this!

Fall Beauty Essentials Oil of Olaz Cleansing Brush

If like me you don’t want to spend a fortune on cleansing brushes (let’s be honest, they’re absurdly overpriced), this is a great alternative. I came across the Oil of Olaz Cleansing Brush in a magazine and when I saw it was only EUR 16 (that’s right, that’s like the price of one brush from the other brands) I knew I had to try it. The cleansing brush does the job. It cleanses and the bristles are soft to the skin but sturdy enough to clean the skin. Don’t let the price stop you – it’s a steal!

Fall Beauty Essentials Origins Clay Mask

I am a sucker for face masks and this one is a new favorite. The Origins Rose Clay Mask makes your skin feel like a baby’s butt. This is probably the best mask I’ve tried so far. Apply a small amount all over the face and rinse after fifteen minutes. It feels so gentle but you could see the impurities removed from your skin after you’ve rinsed off the mask. The scent is very pleasant as well.

What are your fall beauty essentials? And which one of the above would you try?

  • I don’t have a beauty routine worth mentioning. For ages now I’ve been using the Kanebo Sensai Silk emulsion (super moist), at night only because I’m too lame to use any moisturizer in the morning. Uhm, that’s it. Oops. Recently I did purchase Roc Correxion, because perhaps I should start using anti-aging stuff. But I still have to try it – feels a bit daunting though, ’cause perhaps it will dry out my skin. The Origins clay mask you mention here sounds interesting, I might try it. In the past I used to play around a lot more with creams, but in the end I would hoard that stuff ’cause I’d use a little and forget about it. In the end our bathroom started to resemble a beauty store 😉

Did you watch the latest Fargo episode? I thought it was so so great! I’m liking this season even better than the already excellent first season!

    • I started using skincare products in my early twenties so I’m kind of used to the whole routine now. There was period when I thought I could get away with less products (meaning, just toner and moisturizer) but I felt that with the stress from work and my age my skin was getting worse. I then started the whole routine again this summer and do notice my skin has improved loads!
Ah Fargo is so good! I agree, it is getting better. I couldn’t stand Kirsten Dunst at first (or her character) but what a handful that woman is. How crazy would it be if she were the only one to survive the whole mess?!! Can’t wait for the next episodes!
Have a great day Izzy! <3

  • My essential would be a good face oil because there isn’t anyhing a face oil can’t do 🙂 The rose cleansing stick is really intriguing! Do you think the rose mask is too drying for normal skin? Tried various clay masks and only 1 or 2 worked among the dozens I’ve tried. Whoops.

    • I was afraid the rose mask would be too drying too (I have combination skin; normal with oily T-zone). I usually use sheet masks because other masks often dry out my skin. So far this is the only mask I’ve tried that works for me. The mask leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated. Try to find a sample of the mask at the store if you can!
Have a great day Viviene! <3

      • Hmmmm seems like a good one 🙂 Yeah shall pop into store and ask for a sample. Thank you Igrien 🙂

  • The origins clay mask sounds lovely! I’ve used the body shop rose range and loved how soft it left my skin with the added Vitamin E, really wanting to try this mask now! xx

    • I agree, it’s the first thing I look at when I buy a product! Packaging is important!
I’ve never heard of Liz Earle before, I don’t think we have it here. Will keep an eye out for it though! Thanks for stopping by Bethany! <3

  • aaahhh, I love the simplicity of your fall skincare routine, Igrien. Not too daunting and like you, I love things to be easy and simple and fuss free, the better (just pure lazy me *_^).

Have heard of the Korean brand Missha and they have finally landed in Malaysia. Am super hyped to check out their products this weekend at their very first launch party. I shall keep an eye out on that revolution line, sounds lovely! (Hope they brought in skincare as well and not just makeup).

Yes, I have begun to understand that huge hype about Korean Cushion since I have started (finally!) using one recently, but mine is the Innisfree one and it is such a charmer *_^

I have yet to jump on the face brush bandwagon yet. Perhaps it will come soon! Next year? haha

Nice to stumbled into your lovely blog here, great visuals. Thanks for sharing. Have a beautiful week ahead.

    • Hi Jeann, thank you for your kind words 🙂
I’ve been meaning to try the Innisfree cushion! I’m curious to see how it’s different from the Laneige one!
Imagine coming from the Netherlands, where there are no Korean brands (or any other Asian brands for that matter) available at all! Thank god for international shipping though haha!
Thanks for stopping by here Jeann! Hope you have a great day! <3
