The weather has been nothing but crazy lately. One day you’re out in the pouring rain, rushing to get home – other days it’s as sunny as ever and you forget autumn has begun. That is, until the cold wind hits you. I’m hoping for a mild fall/winter season this year – preferably with as little rain as possible. Can we have that, please?
One thing I love about fall is changing from the bright colors of summer (which I usually do not like that much anyway) to slightly more muted colors. There’s something about neutrals that just screams – pick me! Here’s some tips for this year’s fall color palette.
IN MY CLOSET
My fall closet currently consists of dark browns, and some muted reds, greens, purples and blues. And by pure coincidence, I’m wearing a skirt rocking all of the colors at once. Top it off with black details and you’re good to go this fall season. Besides the color palette, fall is also the time to mix and match with fabrics. Suede skirts, velvet ensembles, and lace details – it all seems to make sense this season. Go wild, go crazy, this is the time for it. As far as shoes go, it’s time to get those over knee boots out again!
ON MY VANITY
When it comes to fall beauty, the darker it gets the better. I’m talking about lush brown smoky eyes and dark colored nails. Whatever look you’re rocking, a dark lip is key. Try to find a shade that matches your skin tone. If your skin has warmer tones (yellows, browns), go for dark reds and browns. If your skin has cooler tones (pinks, blues), go for dark purples or reds with a bluer hue.
