The perfect getaway isn’t always one you plan but rather one that comes when you are most in need of one. We’re living busy lives, trying to live up to society’s expectations whilst managing our own wishes and dreams. We take upon us a dozen (new) responsibilities even when we know we don’t have the time for it – but like one Mr. Grey, we aim to please. At one point the built up tension reaches a towering height and all you want to do is disappear into the outer ends of the universe.
We found our hideout at Hong Kong’s Grand Hyatt – a luxurious and prestigious hotel on Hong Kong Island. Located right on the waterfront it offers one of the best views of the Victoria Harbour. The harbour view suite with an open bath tub featured the most fragrant Maison Martin Margiela Replica products. Le boyfriend, usually with a couldn’t-care-less demeanor, was immediately sold and packed extra bottles even before I could get my hands on one.
Because every getaway needs a chill list.
At One Harbour Road, guests are treated to traditional Cantonese dishes. From an array of dim sum platters and honey roasted barbecued meats to more elegant dishes as deep fried mushroom with an osmanthus honey sauce and abalone and mushroom casseroles, you’re bound to leave the restaurant feeling satisfied.
The Grand Hyatt rooms have a modern interior design. Hues of gold, brown, orange colour the room, creating a warm atmosphere. Harbour view suites look out on the Kowloon skyline, where skyscrapers light up the sky even until dark hours. Head up to the Grand Club lounge for an even more impressive view.
At the Grand Hyatt, a getaway isn’t just a getaway – it’s a place to wind down, take a step back for a moment and reflect on things again. While #bloggerlife may seem like a glamorous feat, the truth is often that we’re drowning in our work. Sure, a weekend well spent brings a week of content, but having an abundance of content (in my case, a whole month worth) can have the opposite effect in terms of motivation. I’m glad that, now that the biggest part of renovations are over (and the place is livable – hooray!), I can fire up my blogging activities again.
Because boy – it has been long.
