I don’t know about you guys, but there’s something about spring that makes me want to try out new beauty products. I’ve got a ton of products that I still want to show you guys but with beauty products, it takes some time to test and try before I know I can write about it.
These are some new skincare picks that I’ve been trying out and loving. The first is the Origins White Tea moisturizer. I am obsessed with Origins. I have a few of their masks lined up in my bathroom cabinet (rose clay, still ultimate fave). I’ve been using the moisturizer these last couple of days and love the overall softness of the cream. The moisturizer contains white tea, which packs loads of anti-oxidants, which in turn, helps protect the skin against air pollution. The moisturizer has a nice subtle scent as well (I don’t like overpowering scents – so this is good!).
This product is the latest in skincare innovation. When I received this, I had no clue what it was or what it did. Clinique has come out with a product called the Fresh Pressed Vitamin C products that you’re supposed to use over a 7-day period. You receive 7 packs of a powdered Vitamin C cleanser and a booster bottle. The powder is meant to be used as a cleanser in the morning and it is activated by water. The booster you use by mixing two drops in your daily moisturizer.
After a few days, I could see my skin feeling smoother and brighter. After I had completed the 7 days, I could actually see a visible difference in the texture of my skin. It felt firmer and less scarred. It also left this glow on my face (always a good thing)!
I’m going to try the products again in two months to see if my skin improvement is actually due to these products! Stay tuned for that!
For the longest time I’ve been afraid of using oils in my skincare regimen. I have a combination skin leaning more towards oily. But I’ve learned that using oils is actually not a bad thing, even if you have an oily skin.
I’ve been using the Chanel Jasmin oil for some time now. The thing is, oils aren’t necessarily meant to be applied to the skin directly, especially not with my skin. The trick is to use the benefits from the oil without creating an excess of oils on the skin. To do this, you simply mix a few drops of your oils with your moisturizer or cream. By doing this, the oil gets absorbed into the skin better and you won’t be left looking greasy.
The Chanel oil leaves a lovely subtle Jasmin scent on the skin as well that I absolutely love!
If there’s one product that is always underestimated, it is the eye cream. Which is funny because a good eye cream can do wonders and it can make your skin look healthy instantly. They say that a good eye moisturizer in the morning can make a world of difference on your dark circles. We usually skip this step because we think we can just conceal it with our concealers.
The eye cream I’ve been using lately is one from the Lancôme Energie de Vie line. When they came out with the Energie de Vie line last year, I was already obsessed with it. The new eye gel is no different. The gel soothes and refreshes your skin. The gel applicator features three metal rollers that have a cooling effect as well.
My tip: keep your eye gels and creams in the fridge. It’ll have an extra cooling effect, which minimizes the puffiness under your eyes!
Last but not least, we have a cleansing oil. A cleanser is one of the most important steps to achieving a healthier skin. Never, under what circumstances ever, go to sleep with your make up still on. Leaving your make up on ruins your skin because all the make up and dirt will sink into your pores when you sleep. You want to clean your face every night and you want to clean it thoroughly to keep your skin healthy!
My latest cleansing favorite is the Kiehl’s Midnight cleansing oil. It has a soft lavender scent, which I love. But on top of that, it has been my go-to cleansing oil for a while now. It is soft but it cleanses thoroughly. And it’s oil-based – which makes for the best cleanser.
They say that the scent of lavender also helps put you to sleep at night. Well happy sleeping!
