Eight finalists from top design schools around the world competed against each other to win the H&M Design Awards 2016. The jury consisted of actress Kate Bosworth, photographer Nick Knight and Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing. London graduate Hannah Jinkins came out on top.

“I feel very honored and proud to have won the H&M Design Award. When my name was announced, it was very surreal and I felt quite emotional,” Jinkins says in a statement. “I want to start my own label, and winning the award means I can follow my dream.”

Hannah’s collection featured a blend of tough fabrics and neutral-colored silky silhouettes. With her collection, Hannah wins a one-year mentorship by H&M, a monetary prize and the opportunity to present a collection in selected H&M stores and online next fall.
