InterContinental San Francisco

I edited these photos late last night. I forgot how grand our view was at the InterContinental San Francisco. K would do his evening runs every night and I would just gaze into the lights of the gorgeous skyline. One evening he came back from his run and I was standing on the exact same spot by the window before he left, shooting away. I had my tripod with me during the whole trip but this was the only time I had the opportunity to use it, so use it I did. The last photo was one of a series of long exposures I tried doing. The sky was a gorgeous hue of purple and blues. I could get used to a view like this.

The InterContinental San Francisco is located in the SoMa (South of Market) neighbourhood. The hotel offers rooms and suites with spectacular views. Rooms are decorated elegantly with lots of wood and marble. The style is contemporary and sleek. Due to its convenient location, you’ll find yourself in Union Square and the premium shopping areas within minutes. Don’t fancy a lot of walking? The hotel offers spa treatments as well, has a pool and fitness center. Moreover, on the ground floor, you can enjoy a wonderful dining experience at the Michelin-starred Luce Restaurant.

We stayed at the hotel for four days. If you haven’t been to San Francisco yet, four days will give you plenty of time to visit all the landmarks and more. I wish we could have stayed longer though. Perhaps I just didn’t want to leave the hotel. Our stay at the InterContinental San Francisco was simply amazing. Every morning we enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast. We would sneak out of the hotel early in the morning to tour the city. After a long day of sightseeing, eating, shopping and shooting photographs, we would end up in the hotel’s lounge for some bites. And after that, it was back to the room again to enjoy this view, a view we never grew tired of (and how could we).
