One of the prettiest hotels in Amsterdam currently has to be the Pulitzer hotel. Located in the city center, the hotel is a favorite among tourists.
Don’t let that fact fool you though – because it is a hotspot among Amsterdam citizens as well. For their bar, for one, and two, Jansz. When Jansz opened earlier this year, I was excited already about their menu. The menu features dishes that range from fine-dining cuisine like glazed duck with black pepper to classics such as a cheese burger with Reypenaer cheese and bacon (and fries on the side!).
This month we sampled their signature dishes as well as some of their popular dishes. Starting with the diver scallops – a dish that makes your heart sing. And with a marble table top, what else could an instagramming food blogger want (am I right? high five). The restaurant’s braised meatballs with marinara sauce are a favorite among foodies in Amsterdam (it was one of my top dishes served at Taste of Amsterdam this year) but my all time Jansz favorite has to be the lobster risotto. This dish is as creamy and scrumptious as it sounds.
Continuing our journey, we are served a beautiful seasonal dish of cauliflower and wild mushrooms (perfect for fall).
For dessert we order a delicious coconut panna cotta with lime sorbet and the New York cheesecake with pistachio sorbet. Is there a better way to end a night?!
