When we were in Hanoi, we stayed at the JW Marriott. If our schedule allowed us for more time, I would have stayed in this hotel all week. Everything from the pick up service at the airport to the friendly staff at the hotel and the amazing views of the swimming pool – you really can’t pick a better place to start your Vietnam journey.
We stayed in one of the hotel’s Executive rooms. We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years but this has to be the biggest hotel room so far. The room had a stunning marble bathroom and luxurious bath tub, a spacious living room (where we had spent one night catching up on Westworld), the softest pillows and – the best part – an amazing view.

Of course when we weren’t off to the city center, we would spend some time in the hotel. At sunset, the swimming pool is the place to be. Located on one of the top floors, the swimming pool has a magnificent view over the city.
For dinner, we recommend going to French Grill. The restaurant serves beautiful French classics (of which the king crab starter with daikon and ponzu sauce was my absolute favorite). And do not forget to try one of the desserts from the dessert cart. After seeing the dessert cart at French Grill, I am convinced all restaurants need one.
