With autumn around the corner, I find myself looking at warmer and darker lipstick shades already. I find that there’s something playful and fun about the summer season that makes us want to sport brighter and colorful shades. But come fall, we’re lusting over fiery reds, muted pinks and dark brown tints. Mysterious shades for the gloomy season. Here’s some of my top picks for this fall!
First off, you can’t go wrong with browns in the fall. Brown tones go beautifully with neutrals, work attire, and even night looks. One of my favorite brown-tinted lipstick at the moment (I’ve been wearing this all summer) is the Chanel rouge coco shine in golden sand. A deep coffee tone (with a shine) that makes any casual outfit look chic! Choose a darker brown with an almost purple hue like night viper from Giorgio Armani for a truly mysterious look or go for a much lighter nude chocolate like silenzio.
Fall is the season of fiery reds and warm tones. If you check my bags, chances are you’re going to find one or two red lipsticks packed with me. For fall season, I’m leaning towards a feisty red shade like Estée Lauder‘s hot streak or play for Giorgio Armani beauty. Reds like these are shades you can rock all year long honestly. For a darker red, opt for the new Lancôme matte shaker in red’y in 5 – a lush deep red with a matte finish. Want to keep it lighter even in the fall? Go with Clinique‘s runway coral – a rich orange red.
And if you’re not into browns or reds, there’s always the color pink you can count on. I actually think pink is wonderful for fall season. Pink has a wide range of shades – from mauve tones to gorgeous lush muted pinks. For a lip color in a muted pink shade, go for Ilia’s buttery lip conditioner in darlin’ or YSL‘s impulsif (with a gorgeous golden shine). For a brighter pink, I love Chanel‘s esquisse – a bright pink and reddish shade. Now, if you truly want to go all out with brighter colors, there’s also Tom Ford‘s lip contour duo in secret escort. This color is described as a bright red but on my lips it shows as a beautifully bright pink. For cherry-colored lips, I’m truly obsessing over Giorgio Armani‘s maharajah. Line the lips with Lancôme‘s sheer raspberry lip liner – goes perfectly well with it. Last but not least, a light muted pink that is suited for almost everybody, is the gorgeous Lancôme energy peach. The perfect shade for every-day wear in the fall!
