I was in high school when I first saw the film (LA Confidential). I had developed a love for black and white films, films from the fifties in particular (12 Angry Men, Dial M for Murder, Rear Window) and so when this was aired, it couldn’t have come at a better time. Last month, in an entirely different LA than the film (though how fun would it be to be in LA in the fifties), we had a mystery of our own to uncover. After our drive along the coastline for four days, we had finally arrived in the City of Angels. We had heard few great things about the city. When people do the Los Angeles – Las Vegas – San Francisco road trip, people are often most excited about the latter. And yes, like many others before us, we too had fallen prey to the glory of the City by the Bay. Los Angeles though, with its urban cultures, progressive food scene and that small spark from the city’s golden days. It had stolen our heart and when we left the city knowing we would meet again soon.

If you’ve seen me with any jewellery lately, chances are it’s from QueenHearts. I have been obsessing over their gorgeous pieces, the crossed ring in particular, and more than once have I been asked where it’s from. QueenHearts is a small jewellery house located in Bangkok. Headquartered in the capital of Thailand, QueenHearts’ team of skilled artisans craft exceptional pieces. From elegant and edgy silver jewels to delicate and dainty ones, it’s hard to pick from these stunning pieces in the morning. Keep an eye on the blog for a full feature soon!
And what perfect accessory to pair with the jewellery than this exquisite creation from Naledi Copenhagen. This high-end brand comes from duo Mary Sini from Italy and Natalka Hansen from Ukraine, who met each other in Cape Town (talk about an international brand). With backgrounds in astrophysics and political science, they’re probably the most unlikely duo ever in the fashion scene. And yet here they are, presenting us with their highly exclusive creations. I can’t wait to show you guys more of the bag on the blog later.
