Louis Vuitton Exhibition London

It’s exactly nine thirty in the morning when I arrive at 180 Strand. The streets are empty, post-apocalyptic almost and the only person on the street is a woman with a Louis Vuitton monogram shopper, standing in front of the Louis Vuitton exhibition space. She glances my way. I give her one of those nice-to-see-a-living-being-but-until-I’ve-had-my-morning-coffee-I’m-not-having-a-conversation-just-yet looks. You know those memes on the internet about how women are when they’re hungry or when it’s just too early in the morning? Guilty as charged. The woman comes my way and asks for a photograph. She hands me her camera and grabs my takeaway coffee. My coffee. I take a photo of her, standing in front of the giant Louis Vuitton Exhibition Series 3 letters with her monogram shopper in shot and my cup. She thanks me and gives me back my coffee. Somewhere in London, or elsewhere in the world, there’s a woman posing in front of the exhibition with my coffee on a photo. I’m already glad she didn’t take my shades. No man could dare witness the bags under my eyes that day.

Following Series 1 and Series 2, Series 3 invites visitors to discover Nicolas Ghesquière’s inspirations for his fourth ready-to-wear show as the Artistic Director for women’s collections at Louis Vuitton. At the exhibition you’ll find runway shows from this and previous seasons, a Louis Vuitton walk-in closet, a closer look at the craftsmanship of the pieces, a poster room and a display of iconic Louis Vuitton pieces. The exhibition is open to public from September 21st to October 18th 2015. Tickets are free and can be ordered here. Don’t forget to grab your poster and two stickers in the cafe!

    • Ah nice, I haven’t seen Series 2 so being able to see Series 3 was an amazing experience! I hope they show Series 3 somewhere near you soon!

  • Sadly, I won’t be near London any time soon, but I’ll take some consolation by gazing at your pretty photos 😉
Your anecdote made me snicker, it’s very recognizable!

      • If I miraculously happen to be in London (a girl can hope! I looove London!), I’ll definitely take you up on that coffee and TV/Movies chat; sounds great 🙂

  • What I’d give to see this. And true to form it is ethereal and beyond grand design. Not that it’s similar but I had a meme moment Wednesday. “Hangry” I was. It was a total out of body experience.

    • I know right? Coffee is the only thing to keep me civil in the morning :p
Oh Ira, the exhibition was wonderful, do check it out if you’re here soon! What’s best is, it’s free! 😀

      • Absolutely, yeah!! Haha, and so me! :))
I hope I get a chance, so I can visit asap!!! I’ve had to pay almost 10 Euros for the Lagerfeld exhibition a couple of months ago. So cool that it’s free!!!

        xoxo Ira

    • Haha, definitely rule #1 in the morning!
Where do you live? Hopefully the exhibition will go to a place near you after London!

      • I’m Belgian but moving back to Paris soon for my studies, so I might come across it 😀 Sad thing is that I was in London the day the exhibition started but totally missed it. Crossing my fingers to be able to see it in Paris!

        • Ahw really! Well in Paris you have a great museum you could visit: Fondation Louis Vuitton. It doesn’t showcase any LV work but it has some great artwork there! Plus I like the architecture! Do visit 😉

  • great shots! the exhibition looks fantastic!
