I can’t recall my first time drinking champagne. It may have been on a new year’s eve party, or at a restaurant. It doesn’t matter for this narrative really. Point is, I enjoy champagne (but then, who doesn’t). One of my favorite holidays with K was a couple of years back when we headed out to Reims for a champagne tour and visited champagne houses one by one and made it to a remarkable five glasses before noon. Don’t ask how. It’s as if people in Reims don’t have access to water – there’s only champagne. We questioned this oddity of course – whilst drinking another glass of champagne.
There’s something about drinking champagne that makes you just want to sit back, let go and let time pass. With champagne, passivity suddenly finds a certain respectability.
The Taittinger Prestige Rosé is a champagne that is likely to win over the hearts of many women. With the subtle aromas of raspberries and wild strawberries, it’s a light yet lively champagne, best enjoyed in the summer. Champagne is always best enjoyed in good, no, great company. And so I called in the help of my co-conspirators. People I knew would appreciate the champagne or at least adore the beautiful lush velvety pink color of the champagne.
Oumayma, this girl is something. From editorial fashion shoots in her basement to shoots in underground metro scenes, her eye for haute couture trends and photography is undeniably the best we’ve seen in a while. Everything about her reads high fashion – except for her attitude, because she’s as humble as they come. If you ever feel sad or miserable, ask her for a photo of her drool worthy designer bag collection. It’ll cheer you up instantly (trust me). I’m sad she’s leaving for Dubai soon, but this girl is going places. Iris is one of the high-rises of today’s blogging scene. From her sixties looks to her colorful boots and distinctive cat eye looks. At times I suspect she loves her Gucci Dionysus more than she loves her boyfriend, but hey, name one person who isn’t in love with the bag. Last but not least, the ever-stunning Rachel. I remember spotting her on instagram a year ago. Her high cheek bones, fiery red hair and penetrating gaze. Take a candid shot of this girl and you’ll walking away with a fashion shot in your hands, guaranteed. Also, I’m pretty sure her cheekbones can cut through glass.
Every person needs a group of people who support them. Whether it is in life or at work. Wherever, you’re going to need people who have the same dreams or not at all, but who stand by you and believe in what you do. They’re your friends, colleagues, coconspirators, fellow mischief doers.
These girls are my fellow mischief doers. #Girlbosses who aren’t following other people’s leads. Who, instead, are challenging themselves and creating their own rules. Which I find is admirable because it takes a decent set of balls to go against the status quo. The blogging scene is vastly growing, making it harder to stand out and even more difficult to find the bloggers that resonate with you. But once you’ve found them, well, you can create your own little #girlsquad.
The-fierce-and-fabulous squad. I’m calling it.
Which is why I raise a glass of Taittinger Prestige Rosé with and especially to them. And to all the people in the world who are following their hearts and creating their own paths. Find your squad and celebrate your little victories together. And cherish the moment.
