SONDER, noun: “the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.” When John Koenig, a graphic designer from Minnesota isn’t writing dictionaries, he spends his time defining words through film. His blog, Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, is a collection of made-up words. “It’s a compendium of the aches, demons, vibes, joys and urges that roam the wilderness of the psychological interior” John explains. “My mission is to harpoon, bag and tag wild sorrows, then release them gently back into the subconscious.” John is being criticized for using footage from other filmmakers. But stolen footage or not, this is a well-crafted piece. Poetic even.
