Today marks the first day of summer. But if you’re from the Netherlands, that probably doesn’t mean a lot. These past few weeks it has been rainy, windy and the skies are a dark shade of grey. I faintly remember some summer-y days we had in April and May, when it was hot and girls were sporting colorful skirts and off shoulder dresses. Let’s just cross our fingers that this weather is a temporary thing and that we’ll get to enjoy summer in no time again!
To prepare for summer, I’ve summed up a couple of my favorite beauty essentials!
This Jo Malone Grapefruit scent is one of the freshest and sweetest scents of the collection. It smells like summer and leaves a fresh fruity note on your skin. It’s perfect for days when you don’t feel like wearing an overpowering perfume but you still want something light.
The Starskin Peeling Puff is a peeler and exfoliator in one. It removes pore-clogging dead skin cells that causes dull skin. Use the puff on a Sunday afternoon by adding water to the package, which creates a foamy substance. The puff brightens the skin tone and gives your skin a natural glow – perfect for summer!
I’ve been obsessing over Morocconoil products lately and this Morocconoil Body Cream is certainly no exception. The cream is rich and moisturous and keeps your skin hydrated on dry days. The cream is lightly scented but it has a very pleasant smell to it. The packaging has a luxurious feel, which would make this a great gift as well.
4. EOS Lip Balm
For years, the cute EOS lip balms have been taking over the beauty world by storm. Who does not love their balms. EOS has created a special summer collection of summer-scented balms. This one is the strawberry sorbet – it’s fruity but not overpowering. Pop this in your bag and keep your lips moisturized wherever you go!
5. Marie Stella Maris Eye Cream
Of all beauty products, eye creams are the most underrated, which is a shame because a good eye cream can go a long way. Apply this eye cream every morning under your eyes using your ring finger and dot it along the surface under your eyes. The cream reduces lines and smoothes the skin. My advice: put this in your fridge and it’ll reduce puffiness as well in the morning!
